A brush fire apparently connected to an Amtrak substation in the Bronx caused a power outage and a disruption that was expected to last through the day.

Amtrak service between New York Penn Station and New Haven, Connecticut, is suspended for the remainder of the day due to a fire near the tracks in the Bronx, according to officials.

Fire crews on both coasts of the U.S. are battling wildfires, including one in New York and New Jersey that killed a parks employee.

Dangerous wildfires were burning Monday on the East and West coasts, with firefighters in New York and New Jersey working to contain a deadly blaze spurred by an ongoing, historic drought – while strong winds in Southern California could fan a destructive fire in Ventura County.
